About Benaiah

A popular name meaning “the Lord has built,” used primarily by Levites.

The son of Jehoiada the priest, from the south Judean town of Kabzeel. Benaiah fought in the military, and he became the commander-in-chief of the army during the reign of Solomon (1 Kings 2:35; 4:4).
