Elkanah, a Levite descendant of Kohath living during the time of Egypt and the wilderness, is first mentioned in Exodus 6:24.

About Elkanah

A Levite who belonged to the family of Korah (Exodus 6:24). He was a descendant of Izhar (Exodus 6:21). Elkanah was the son of Assir, and he became the father of Ebiasaph (1 Chronicles 6:23).
