About Hananiah (Nehemiah 7:2)
Commander of the citadel of Jerusalem. Nehemiah chose him to rule the city together with Hanani, Nehemiah’s brother. Hananiah was described as a faithful and God-fearing man. He was given the task of making sure the city walls and gates were guarded (Nehemiah 7:2–3).
