Talmai, mentioned in 2 Samuel 3:3, was an Ammonite king, son of Ammihud, and father of Maacah, living during the time of Israel's united kingdom.
About Talmai (2 Samuel 3:3)
A son of Ammihud and father of Maacah. Maacah was the wife of King David. She gave birth to Absalom, the third son of David (2 Samuel 3:3; 1 Chronicles 3:2). After Absalom killed his half-brother Amnon, he ran away to his grandfather Talmai's small kingdom of Geshur for safety. (2 Samuel 13:37).
