Zechariah ruled in Samaria for only six months before he was murdered by Shallum at Ibleam (2 Kings 14:29; 15:8–11). The Lord promised Jehu that his descendants would rule to the fourth generation (2 Kings 10:30). This promise was fulfilled with Zechariah’s reign.
