1And Elihu went on to say:
2“Do you think this is just? You say, ‘I am more righteous than God.’†3For you ask, ‘What does it profit me,and what benefit do I gain apart from sin?’1And Elihu went on to say:
2“Do you think this is just? You say, ‘I am more righteous than God.’†3For you ask, ‘What does it profit me,and what benefit do I gain apart from sin?’Elihu tried to answer his own question (35:2).
But his response did not add anything new compared to:
Elihu did not realize that all sin offends God (Genesis 39:9; Matthew 25:41–46; compare Proverbs 19:17).
Elihu echoed Job's words but then disagreed with them (9:24; 12:6–10; 21:7–15, 17).
