Son of Uzziel and cousin of the high priest Aaron. He was a levitival priest and chief of the clan of the Kohathites.
About Elizaphan
A Levite man from the Kohath family and the son of Uzziel (Numbers 3:29–30). Elizaphan helped remove the bodies of Nadab and Abihu from the camp (Leviticus 10:4). Elizaphan’s descendants were responsible for caring for the ark, the table, the lampstand, and vessels of the sanctuary (compare 1 Chronicles 15:8; 2 Chronicles 29:13). His name is also spelled Elzaphan (Exodus 6:22; Leviticus 10:4).
