A son of Kohath a clan leader of the Levites and father of Korah. He lived during the time of Egyptian slavery and the wilderness wandering of the Israelites.
About Izhar
One of Kohath’s sons from the tribe of Levi (Exodus 6:18, 21; Numbers 3:19; 16:1; 1 Chronicles 6:2, 18, 38; 23:12, 18). He was the father of the Izharite family (Numbers 3:27; 1 Chronicles 24:22; 26:23, 29). He is also called Amminadab in 1 Chronicles 6:22. One of Izhar’s sons was Korah, who led the rebellion against Moses and Aaron (Numbers 16:1–11).
