The bath is the liquid equivalent to the ’eyfah dry measure.
1KI 7:26; 2CH 4:5: In these verses the capacity of the bronze Sea is given according to the bath measure. Since scholars do not agree on the size of the bath, translations differ wildly on the capacity of the bronze Sea in 1KI 7:26: 80,000 liters (FRCL), 40,000 liters (GECL), 11,000 gallons (CEV), 10,000 gallons (GNT), and so. It is to be noted that 1KI 7:26 gives the capacity as 2,000 baths, while 2CH 4:5 has 3,000 baths. Translators should not try to harmonize these figures. See also the discussion under Temple: Sea, tank.
ISA 5:10: See the comments under chomer above, Homer.
EZK 45:10; EZK 45:11; EZK 45:11; EZK 45:14; EZK 45:14; EZK 45:14; EZK 45:14: This passage equates the ephah and the bath. They are both one-tenth of a homer.
