In EXO 16:16 the ‘omer was the amount of manna to be gathered. It is expressed by many translations as “two quarts” (GNT). Luther and GECL prefer a container of appropriate size, saying “a jar full.” EXO 16:36 defines an omer as 1/10 of an ephah.
