Merari’s son and Levi’s grandson (Exodus 6:19; Numbers 3:20; 1 Chronicles 6:19, 29; 23:21; 24:26–28; Ezra 8:18). The founder of the Mahlite family (Numbers 3:33; 26:58). The Mahlites, along with the other families of Merari, were chosen to carry the frames of the tabernacle and the pillars of the court (Numbers 4:29–33).
