Description and usage
In Ezekiel’s description of the Temple, special rooms were designated at the four corners of the outer court for boiling the meat from the sacrifices. The people who brought certain sacrifices were to eat a sacred meal, which was prepared in these rooms by servants (perhaps Levites) designated for the task.
Translation
Most translations render beyth mvashlim in EZK 46:24 as “kitchen” (RSV, CEV, NIV). NASB has “boiling places.” GECL avoids translating the name of the rooms by saying “Here the Temple servants will cook the meat for the sacred meal of the people.”
