Translation

JDT 5:1: The Greek word skandalon refers literally to the trigger peg in an animal trap. It is used frequently in the New Testament with the meaning “something that causes a person to stumble.” It can also refer to an object that hinders someone’s progress. So NJB renders it “obstructions” in JDT 5:1, and ITCL uses the verb phrase “blocked the road.” GNT says “roadblocks.”
