Description
The sheet was a large piece of cloth, usually of linen (see Linen).
Translation
The Greek word othonē is a general term for a piece of linen cloth that was used for a variety of objects, including a cloth that a person could wrap around himself as clothing or a sail for a boat. In its context in Acts, it has four corners and is large enough to hold a large number of animals. In translation it will not normally be necessary to indicate that the “cloth” or “sheet” was made of linen.
